is one of my pieces in development. It's one of the more complex pieces, but the process is basically the same for all of my work.
here's the sketch. first i drill holes in each square for the blade to go through- about 450 holes total.
finally the last hole- about 40 hours later!! now i begin on the top piece, the wheels, and figures.
there are four pieces (layers) to assemble, this will create the added dimension that i like.

after assembly it's time for the base coat and rough color.
the final steps, hand-stitching the background and cutting out the letters. heres' the final.
